I am using Mendeley, but I am having trouble trying to find how to create citations with it. I am not sure if it is because I am using an extension of it, I have a Chromebook.

You have a couple of options that you can try:

1) Install Mendeley Cite in Word. It’s pretty slick.
2) Download the Mendeley Library and create bibliographies in the View Tab. This guide shows that you can just drag and drop citations from your Mendeley into Word and they will be created. 
3) I haven’t found good documentation about how to use the Chrome extension, so far I’m just finding info that shows how to use it to import documents INTO your library. Try the drag and drop option from option 2 and see if that works.
